Our Classes
The English Method
This is not your average barre class. The English Method is known for being the most “Ballet-based” barre class around. While no prior Ballet experience is necessary, a basic level of coordination is helpful. This class is different every week and becomes more difficult as the week goes on. This allows your body to learn and make recognizable progress in just one week. This also prevents you from hitting the dreaded fitness plateau as each week is new. Class begins with a grounding warm up to wake up the body, breath, and mind. Next, at the barre, we put on ankle and arm weights and execute set combinations with the whole body involved. Each set at the barre is designed to target specific muscle groups and made up of reps designed to exhaust them. After barre, we move into mat work focusing on core strength. Class always finishes with a brief stretch to lengthen the muscles and release lactic acid, as well as a moment of meditation and aromatherapy.
Somatic Release
All levels welcome. This class is about moving and stretching the body in a way that allows for the release of stored tension. Each class ends with a short meditation.
Novice Ballet
All levels welcome. If you have ever wished you had taken those ballet classes when you were younger, Beginner Ballet is for you. Ballet is not only just a great workout, it can also be a way to build your confidence and self-love. Learning new things triggers a dopamine response in our brains and builds new neural pathways, allowing us open our minds to more possibilities. In this class, we will go over the ballet basics enough to enjoy a few barre exercises, as well as center exercises.
Complex Ballet
This class is for clients who have taken ballet before and have a good understanding of the basics. It is important to have this basic knowledge to both prevent injury and ensure the enjoyment of the client. In this class we will start with a barre, focusing on both technique and the joy of movement. When we move to the center, we will work on adagio and turns, as well as petit and grande allegro.
